The measurement and regular monitoring of success is imperative for your teams motivation as well as your own so going through the following questionnaire as a team exercise will help identify what you have achieved and setting targets to achieve in the future.

Firstly and foremost “cash is king” and profit, turnover and salary are a few of the only forms of measuring success that can be numerically translated therefore the easiest measurements to compare at regular intervals. Have you met and set targets for the above?





Personal Profile



How knowledgeable are you of you industry? Are you respected not only within your company, by your peers but also your clients? Do people come to you for advice because they consider you a specialist in your field?





Company Profile



Your customer base is an extremely indicative way to measure success as inevitably the better your company performs, the more business will flow your way through hearing of your enhancing reputation and your company will reap the rewards providing rapid growth strategies are in place for such change. You can essentially measure your companies “popularity” via taking the number of hits on your website, keeping press cuttings and data caption of all your clients.

Where would you define/locate your business on the paradigm twixt in terms of monopoly, and complete competition? Do you know who your competition are and how they are performing? Keep researching your competitors and stay aware of their strategies and success. You have to find ways of comparing to compete and set targets to achieve.





Creativity



How are far along are you keeping with times? Keeping in sight of your competitors progress, how many/often do you create new initiatives, products or services? You must keep your customer interested and reinvent or apply new technology or whatever way to evolve your business to keep it exciting to your consumer. You must docket every change to your business so you can answer these questions on regular bases.





Perfection



How efficient is your team and business? Are you maximizing resources at minimal expenditure? Have you refined and improved all processes and systems so the business operates better? The use of ratios can be a great indication of efficiency across many areas of the business from return on capital employed to return on capital investment.





Performance



Not only should you log the new customers using your business but also your existing customers to indicate compare your performance over a period of time and revisit your existing customers as their opinion holds greater influence over new ones as the can tell you how you have progressed over time. Have you achieved your client base targets each year and is it increasing to your required standards? How can you reach beyond your targets?





Employee Support



How well looked after are your employees? Are they rewarded adequately and is sufficient support available for unusual circumstances? Have you developed your staff enough to maintain their interest and motivation in each job role present? Are you staff aware rewards are on offer for the taking in relation to performance? How can you improve the performance of your staff?





Family Life



Have you successfully balanced the two most important sides of your life in a harmonious internal environment for you to enjoy a stress free life?  Do not let one interfere with the other, either may lead to uncomfortable consequences. Also ensure you exercise to release happy hormones and help you stay happy and healthy.





Solutions



One of the most satisfying measurements of success is knowing you found the solution to a problem either your company is encountering or even better, your client. Look objectively at your problem solving achievements and remember you have to keep improving upon your lateral thinking to find a solution to every problem to come up against. Think outside of the box… just not too far.



There may be more ways of measuring success so continue this exercise and keep your thinking caps on to define your unique selling points and create an impressive sales pitch to describe exactly how well, your business is doing in what areas and why?
