Open & Operational!
Last Friday we marked Day 1 of London Fashion Week with an industry event of our own: the official launch of the FC Designer Workspace! Supported by Islington Council, Mayor of London and LEAP, it marked the beginning of an innovative and affordable community hub for the area’s designers and creatives.
The FC Designer Workspace offers 8 individual studios to affordably rent centred around state-of-the-art sampling and production facilities. It will be home to the Stitching Academy and on-site tutors as well as providing the expertise and support that many small brands and creatives need.
The event attracted a wide range of individuals from the likes of Kate Hills founder of Make It British and Tamara Cincik founder and CEO of Fashion Roundtable, to speeches from Cllr Asima Shaikh, Executive Member for Inclusive Economy & Jobs and Jules Pipe, CBE, Deputy Mayor of London for Planning, Regeneration and Skills.
Heading up the project Fashion-Enter Ltd Development Director, Jenni Sutton said: “We’ve had an amazing response to the studio units, Mi-Bambino, Diva Choice, Another Earthling, Jannaty and Hashtag Made IV Me have already moved in and there’s interest and a waiting list for the remaining studios.”
