20-09-2021

We’ve had the Breakfast Community Launch, a Resident’s Open Day and now we have had the Official Launch; the FC Designer Workspace is now open and operational.

Friday 17th September, marked the start of London Fashion Week and for Fashion-Enter Ltd, supported by Islington Council, Mayor of London and LEAP, it marked the beginning of an innovative and affordable community hub for the area’s designers and creatives. The FC Designer Workspace offers 8 individual studios to affordably rent centred around state-of-the-art sampling and production facilities. It will be home to the Stitching Academy and on-site tutors as well as providing the expertise and support that many small brands and creatives need.

The launch gave the opportunity to say thank-you to all that have worked day and night to make what was a disused car park into an amazing learning and creative space. Based on Durham Road just a few minutes walk away from Finsbury Park tube station the FC Designer Workspace is accessible to all. Stitching tutor Ana said: “We are so visible here and people are interested to see what is going on, I already have a full class of stitching learners starting here next week.”

CEO of Fashion-Enter Jenny Holloway added: “People can’t always afford to go to University to learn fashion so we offer a real and pragmatic alternative – learning with technical skills. The new workspace offers a full support program from creative to selling along with qualification attainment.”

The launch evening invited guests to tour the space, chat to designers, view live pattern and stitching demonstrations and to enjoy a few drinks and canapés.
