Taking place at the Business Design Centre in Islington Make it British Live! is a leading trade event that showcases the best of British manufacturers and producers of textiles, clothing and homeware. Today is the first of the two-day trade show, with our very own CEO Jenny Holloway voicing her views along with notable others on the Make It British Talk schedule. Come along to the Fashion Enter / Fashion Technology Academy stand (G13) to find out all about the services, courses and opportunities that we provide and view pieces from our in-house Belles of London capsule ranges.

Next…Graduate Fashion Week

New to Graduate Fashion Week is the ‘Considered Design Hub’ sponsored by Farfetch. Due to the increasing focus on sustainability in fashion, the hub will act as a platform to illustrate graduate’s ideologies and designs. In addition to spotlighting the works of leading UK and international students, the hub will furthermore act as an area for daily talks and workshops; including one from our very own CEO Jenny Holloway; she will advise how to spot what makes an ethical factory compliant. Her interactive workshop will provide a step-by-step guide to review the good side and the dark side of garment manufacturing today with an explanation of the Gangmasters Labour Abuse Authorities workings.
Graduate Fashion Week is running from 2nd – 5th June 2019 at The Truman Brewery, east London – Jenny Holloway’s workshop is scheduled for 3pm Tuesday 4th May 2019.
Gain Stitching and Pattern Cutting Skills Right Here

If you are interested in joining our 6-week Stitching Academy or Perfect Patterns courses then we have places coming up for the next intake. Stitching Academy Level 1 is due to commence from Monday 24th June while the next Perfect Patterns course will start from Monday 1st July 2019.

Applying Those Newly Learnt Skills

Students that finish all their criteria early get to work on a personal project. Brittany and Zsophia chose to design and make a top and just look at the results! Great to see students applying all the skills that they have learnt in such a creative way.

Tesco F&F Technical Assistant Apprentice Announced
We have been working with Tesco this season with production – the satin bias cut skirts have been a great success! It’s therefore fantastic news that we are now also their training provider for their newly selected apprentice Chloe who is on the garment tech pathway. Good luck to Chloe – first day tomorrow!
Masterclasses Coming Soon…
Advanced 2-Day Gerber Course 1st and 8th June
Take on as much or as little as you like with our new Follow-On Advanced Gerber 2-day course. Get into the nitty-gritty depths of the Pattern Design and Explorer and/or continue with your own journey of drafting and amending patterns. Saturday 1st and the following Saturday 8th June.
TR PatternCutting Taster 29th June
Claudette Joseph has been using and teaching TR pattern cutting for seven years, she is a five times TR Master and a three times TR Super Master, she holds regular classes and workshops in this highly creative form of pattern cutting. Claudette regularly teaches this popular taster course at the Fashion Technology Academy, the next three-hour taster session will take place on Saturday 29th June from 10am – 1pm.
Gerber AccuMark Digital Pattern Making Course for Beginners 7th, 14th and 21st September
The Gerber AccuMark For Beginners is a 15-hour course that will provide you with the skills required for the workplace and within the industry. Led by two leading industry experts who have more than 30-years Gerber experience between them. It is a three-day course, which takes place on Saturday’s from 10am – 3pm.
