Automatic Braiding appoints new marketing manage

Automatic Braiding Limited, one of the UK’s leading manufacturing suppliers of elastic waistband, cord and tape products, has announced the appointment of Alex Cook to the position of marketing manager.

Alex Cook will have direct responsibility for increasing brand awareness of the company’s extensive product portfolio to specifiers and designers within the garment retail and manufacturing sectors. Building on the proven benefits of the company’s established brands, such as Bonadex, Tricoflex and Monoflex, Alex Cook will also implement a strategic marketing programme to highlight the company’s comprehensive customer support, testing, development and design resources.

 

Alex Cook will take up his post with immediate effect. Prior to joining Automatic Braiding Alex Cook spent five years as marketing manager with Nottingham-based Henton and Chattell Limited, the UK’s leading grass machinery distributor. In this role he implemented a number of marketing initiatives that increased the company’s ecommerce-based business from 100 to over 800 customers which, accounted for some 60 per cent of the orders taken. Furthermore he managed the high profile launch and subsequent promotion of the MowBot, a revolutionary hands-free, automated lawnmower.

During this time Alex Cook also studied with the Chartered Institute of Marketing attaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing. Alex Cook has also achieved a BA honours degree in Business Administration with Marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Alex Cook, who lives in Nottingham with his wife, enjoys desktop publishing, creative design and travelling in his spare time. He is an avid supporter of Formula 1 racing and includes scuba diving among his other sporting interests.

Its laboratory and testing facilities are approved annually to meet the high standards set by Marks & Spencer and they are an accredited mill under the DuPont Lycra® Assured Scheme.

Automatic Braiding is a recognised pioneer within the elasticated waistband sector and includes the world’s first integrated elasticated draw cord product and many specialist sewing machine guide application systems among its innovations.
