Additionally we also have a free online masterclass ‘The Sampling Process’ at the end of July. This 2-hour masterclass will inform attendees on how to work with a sampling unit and what the complete process involves, aimed at start-up designers and those thinking about setting up a clothing label. If you have not worked with a manufacturer before or are very new to the process this session will break down exactly what is required from you as the client and what you can expect from the manufacturer.

Listen In…Leicestershire Innovation Week
Next Monday marks the start of Leicestershire Innovation Week (21-26 June 2021). The programme includes a high-profile launch event at Space Park Leicester, organised by the University of Leicester and the LLEP. Dr Kotecha will be joined by Space Park’s Prof Martin Barstow, astronaut Susie Imber, and Innovate UK’s Dean Cook. The event will showcase the opportunities created by this innovative project, for businesses across Leicester.
Other highlights focus on the way we travel, business start-ups, the role of women leaders in innovation, small business and innovation, the creative sector, food and drink, fashion and textiles and diagnostics in the health sector.
Don’t miss the session from Fashion-Enter and the new FCFTA on Thursday 24th June 3.00 – 4.00 pm ‘Rebuilding the image of Leicester’s fashion industry’. Councillor Clarke will open and talk about the advantages of reshoring back to the UK in terms of speed of response, technical innovations, and smaller quantities so that unsold garments do not contribute to landfill. Fashion-Enter’s CEO Jenny Holloway and Production Director Caroline Ash will join to discuss – what are the lessons learned from recent events? Gerber Beginners Course Success
We have just held another successful Gerber for Beginners 3-day course with Ben Cooper. The full class consisted of manual pattern cutters and designers looking to expand their knowledge and upskill their existing pattern cutting experience.
Following the course feedback included:

Talking Fashion with NPTC College Students
Tomorrow, 17th June, Production Director Caroline Ash will be talking about the various job opportunities available within the fashion production sector with a group of students from NPTC colleges in Wales. The art and design students will hear all about Fashion-Enter Ltd and the services it provides along with the various apprenticeship, training and career pathways on offer.
