Welcome New Learners!
This week our educational division, the Fashion Technology Academy, welcomed new Level 1 and 2 cohorts on our popular Stitching and Pattern Cutting courses. The learners are already getting stuck in and gaining new skills that will support them in their fashion career or their own personal projects.

School Leavers – Want an Introduction into the World of Fashion?
Would you like a career in fashion? Learn how designs get off the page and into production with our free Level 3 Diploma in Fashion Design & Business. This free one-year course will introduce various sectors of the industry and culminate in a capsule t-shirt range that each student will promote and sell.
If you are between the age of 16 – 18 the Level 3 Diploma in Fashion Design & Business provides a great place to start your fashion journey. The course is run in collaboration with Capital City College Group in Islington. Tap here for more details and to apply.
Free Drop In Upcycling Sessions on Fonthill Road
Do have piles of much-loved garments in desperate need of repair? A piece of clothing that you cherish that you just can’t bear to discard? Registration for a series of free drop-in upcycling workshops in Islington is now open!
Taking place on a monthly basis at the FC Designer Collective shop on Fonthill Road in Finsbury Park. Attendees can pop-in with their own pre-loved items and learn how to repair or upcycle the item courtesy of Fashion-Enter Ltd in partnership with Islington Council.
Extending the lifespan of our clothes isn’t just good for our finances, but also benefits the environment and our mental health. Time to get into ‘mendfulness’. The first session takes place next Tuesday 12th September.

The Bureau: Transforming Fashion with 3D Avatars
The Bureau is an amazing, visionary modelling agency that scans models to create 3D Avatars with exact biometrics, that seamlessly integrate into pattern and design software. The aim is to create an effortless flow between physical fittings and 3D production. Tap here for the full story.

Ukrainian Embroidered Style at the Shop
Since December 2022 the FEL team have been thrilled to be able to support and sell Nataliia Horbenko’s unique, embroidered designs. Nataliia is from the Ukraine and has resettled into the Islington borough. This week she has re-stocked her rail with a selection of beautiful embroidered pieces, including jackets, tops and dresses. Visit the FC Designer Collective shop, 113-115, Fonthill Road, just 1-minute away from Finsbury Park tube station, to view Nataliia’s unique items.
