Gieves & Hawkes Apprenticeship Success

When it comes to fashion and textiles apprenticeships Fashion-Enter Ltd is England’s leading provider offering quality training at all levels. Apprenticeships offer real, hands-on experience that is invaluable for the industry to continually flourish. The Apprenticeship team at the FTA would like to say a huge congratulations to Mike Deans and Oliver Spencer, both have completed their Level 5 Bespoke Tailor and Cutter apprenticeship with Gieves & Hawkes.
Fashion-Enter CEO Jenny Holloway comments: “Being the first apprentices on the Level 5 Bespoke Tailor and Cutter standard was a big ask, however Mike and Oliver at Gieves & Hawkes have been absolutely outstanding. Not only are they genuinely master cutters but they are gentlemen. They worked hard and learnt all those important tricks of the trade for bespoke. On Tuesday 27th October they had their assessment with Lee Dawson Managing Director at Samuel Brothers and specialist End Point Assessor for SEG Awards and I was absolutely filled with pride. They have amazing careers ahead and they have certainly demonstrated that they have true grit to continue on this path. We shall sincerely miss you Oliver and Mike.”
Also congratulations to Esme McCarter and Carmelle Powell both are former Perfect Patterns learners at the Fashion Technology Academy and have landed jobs with Mountain Warehouse. The demand for skilled production workers in the UK is on the rise.

Tailoring Course Top Marks

Tailoring student Verity Humphreys comments: “I would like to try and express to other students that this has to be hands down one of the best Tailoring courses! Francesco is so sweet and kind and incredibly patient with us! I’m dyslexic and thought I could never learn this kind of bespoke tailoring as everyone else makes it seems so difficult. Francesco however makes you feel completely at ease and so confident you are able to pick up very complicated hand stitches very easily.
“I would recommend this course to anyone who’d like to learn bespoke tailoring as it covers so many things you are able to apply to a whole world of fashion garments in the future. It gives you an in-depth knowledge of how to fit a garment so beautifully to the body it’s a complete work of art in my eyes.”

Studio Space Available to Rent

Do you need studio space? Located at the Fashion Technology Academy in north London we have studio / hot desking space available to rent within our hub of creativity. The space includes the latest machinery, pattern cutting tables, desk space and skilled technicians. Michael Bello is currently hiring out space with us he said…
“For over 2 years, I’ve been looking for a studio to sew and practice with industrial equipment and accessories at my leisure. I have found a few but they were far too expensive. I found this one on Google, like many other Google searches I’ve done before, it was a newsletter dated back to 2016 on the FashionCapital website. I was pleased when I emailed to find out this hiring of studio and equipment was still going on in 2020 at such an affordable price.
“The staff are more helpful than I thought they would be. The atmosphere is supportive, so much so they help me to fix problems and errors with the machine and the tutor – Ana has gone as far helping me with my bespoke pattern designs at no extra charge. I would advise all perspective fashion designers, tailors, sewing experts and amateurs to take this opportunity at Fashion-Enter to hire their sewing space, equipment and support, because you won’t find an opportunity like this anywhere else in London at this price.”
