Quotes From PROFILE 4 (15th & 16th August 2004)

“Thank you all so much for the opportunity to showcase our collection at Profile 4.  It was a great experience, not only meeting professional buyers and customers but also to see our bags on the catwalk.  Profile also gave us the chance to meet other support agencies and discuss what help was available to us.  Thank you again for your continued support.”
Adam Singh of Adam & Mee

“Profile 4 was a big step for me and preparing for it really stretched me.  I was very grateful for the opportunity to experience a trade show and found it an invaluable learning experience.  It has already made me a better designer and business person.  I really appreciate all the hard work and effort that the London Fashion Forum has done on my behalf in promoting up and coming designers like me.”
Annie Dry

“Thank you and your team for your hard work.  My neighbour, Caren Downie from Top Shop said that her accessory buyer will contact me so fingers crossed!  Profile 4 was a great platform for new designers to gain experience in the whole process of exhibiting in a fair; not to mention the recognition that participation can generate. Like many, I think it’s a great idea and that further funding and sponsorship will really take place.”
Ann of Ann Ann

“Profile 4 was an amazing success for Pinky Accessories. Trade Shows are a very fickle game and it can be hard to get the right formula, I agree Profile has this and will continue to grow.” Pinky Accessories

“Profile 4 was the first thing that I have got involved in since graduating.  This was such a great event to meet new contacts and ones that I thought that I would never meet.  I was also surprised by all the support that I got from the LFF especially as my collection was shown on the catwalk.  I cannot wait for Profile 5.  Thanks again to everyone at the LFF, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.”
Carl Goodridge of Crooked fingers

“Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to exhibit at Profile 4, I had an idea of what to expect from visiting the previous shows, but this time round it exceeded all my expectations. It was such a professional and well put together event. I had nothing but positive feedback from every person who approached my stand.  This was so exciting for me as this was my debut collection and the first time i had ever been in such a professional atmosphere with my collection.
“This gave me a great platform to start my business.  I have at least 7 contacts to follow up, and my collection is now going to be available from chique n unique, LFF boutique, I have a meeting with jacaranda, and a follow up meeting with an Italian buyer/manufacturer. So excellent all round.
Can’t wait for profile 5! Thank you once again, for the opportunity and for all your hard work.”
Carlax of CARLARELLA (Ladieswear)

“The fashion show was spectacular really innovative and entertaining – a fantastic job, well done!!
I personally did not take any orders; however, I did make contact with a Japanese company. The general reaction to my collections was very positive with many requests as to where the garments/bags were being sold.  I found these valuable comments very encouraging especially as these were debut collections.

“Profile was great for networking and a real learning experience.  I am now looking forward to the next event where I can exercise, to maximum effect, the experience gained at Profile 4.
Thanks very much for this opportunity!  These events must continue!”

“Our business has grown from the event this week already and from all the other Profile/Necessary Accessory events in the past. Pinky accessories need events like Profile to keep developing and expanding commercially!
“I appreciate all the effort and hard slog by LFF team that goes into this event. Profile 4 has set the foundation for an exceptional Profile 5 – so I hope there will be one.”
Claire O’Connell of Pinky Accessories

“This is the second time round that I have showed at Profile and for me Its been a really good experience for me.  I was delighted to have met Lisa Morelli from 4couture.com.  I also met with independent boutiques one in particular from the north of England.  I have to say that for me I found that there was a lot buyers at this event in comparison from the last event.”
Daniella Benson

“On behalf of Russell and myself I would like to thank you all for the hard work that made Profile 4 a possibility.  It was a great occasion for us to show what we and other young British designers are capable of.  It was a huge honour to win the Debenhams sponsored Menswear award, you gave us that opportunity and now we hope many more will open because of this.  Thank you all so much.”
Daniel Mee of Cracked Corn

“Profile 4 was my first trade show so I didn’t really know what to expect.  I thought the whole fair looked very professional and the catwalk shows were great.  It’s a really good start for new designers to get their work noticed by the people that matter.”
Kind regards, Emma of Emma Gordon

“Thanks a lot for all your help and support.  Profile 4 it has been fantastic bombastic.
The show and the stand has been tremendous important for my business. This was my first time at Profile and I have gained so much in experience and contacts.  It has been important for me as not only because I made contacts with buyers and others but also because I learnt so  much how the fashion industry works.  I have set up my business only 16 months ago and I am trying to find a good balance between my designing ideas and business awareness.   The experience at Profile 4 has been equally important to the one at Milan fashion week and I hope to be part to the next Profile.
Thanks to everybody for the amazing time and support. So professional and efficient.”
Franco Francesca. (Ladieswear exhibitor)

“After showing our Autumn/Winter Collection at the London Fashion Forum’s Profile 4 event in London, we were overwhelmed by the huge amount of incredibly positive feedback received from both buyers and the general public alike.  The chance to exhibit at the Profile 4 event was an incredible opportunity for our collection to receive exposure on an international scale with buyers from as far afield as New York, Greece and Paris as well as closer to home, (a boutique in Chelsea liked our dresses) expressing an interest in our garments.
“The event cemented out belief that not only does Britain have an unbelievable amount of talented designers coming through but that the clothing industry is extremely receptive to these new ideas and designs.  The chance to mix with new as well as established designers was phenomenal for us and we came away with the firm belief that the type of garments we are designing are very much in demand. Being part of the Profile 4 event has been a brilliant jumping off point for us and gave us the chance to meet influential people that we simply would not have had under normal circumstances. Our thanks to everyone involved for putting together such a fantastic event. We hope to see you at next year’s show!”
Jane Lauritzen of Lickety Splick.

“Having had the opportunity to have shown for the first time at Profile 4 was a most amazing and brilliant experience for me. Having only gone from working drawings to completed garments in only 10 days was not only challenging and exciting but I was faced with the realities of what it takes to enter into the fast moving fashion industry – still only in my first year at university.
“I made some great contacts from manufactures to support agents, magazines including “vice magazine” and buyers including the “House of Fraser” all showing interest in my work and collection giving me the confidence required to continue in this field.
“To have such an event as profile 4 supporting new designers such as myself is so wonderful not to mention the support, professionalism and care that the London fashion forum term have shown, with a passionate interest and belief in the designers they support.
“With British Fashion dying in this country, events like these are not only vital but imperative in neutering new British talent….!
Judea from B.Brit

“The LFF gave me a great opportunity to gain exposure to an array of buyers.  It was certainly interesting being both an LFF employee and a designer at the same time!  A lot of the time, I was not at my stand!  So I was really surprised and overjoyed to have had 2 websites (Vanilla Design & Chic n unique) and a boutique (Jacaranda) all leave me their business cards and request that I contact them.
The catwalk show was out of this world and definitely my favourite part.”

“Positive experience, interesting contacts, exposure…”
Laurence Fava  Ladieswear Designer

“I just wanted to thank you both for a great show, Though I wrote no orders, I meet up with five new shops (two of which are on-line) a Japanese agent I have worked with but never meet- so it was great to actually meet her at last, two PR companies, two good stylist’s and Janet Fitch who is now working with Top Draw.
So I am really pleased with the result and the difference between this and profile 3 was un-measurable, the venue, stands, organization and general atmosphere was great!
So Well done & many thanks.”

“I would like to say thank you to the LFF team, I have been so busy since showing at Profile having made many exciting new contacts interested in my product.”
Shona of Aqua Balani”

“I would like to say many thanks for your efforts at the show.  Although I didn’t get any orders, it gave me an opportunity to showcase my first collection and get a reaction from the public.”
Su Augusta

“Particularly useful in terms of building their company profile as a new business – made a few contacts in particular House of Fraser and is yet to follow these up.”
Tahra of Actor

“If there was one real contact I wanted from this Profile 4 it was Selfridges. With my training on patterns with Vivienne Westwood every single piece of my collection is carefully fitted to ensure I have the ultimate fit and I now have a meeting with Selfridges arranged. It’s just perfect positioning for my collection. I am delighted. Thank you to the team at LFF for arranging this brilliant event – I know how hard you must have all worked to make this such a success.”
Yvonne Ntiamoah from Konadu

“Event was fantastic and a brilliant way of connecting buyers with designers.”
Angela Wullems of Koru

“Last year I went to Profile 2 at Carlton Towers as a visitor. I could see instantly that the concept of Profile, networking designers and retailers together along with Business Support Organisations was 100% right so over the last eight months I have worked on a plan to become a partner with LFF for Profile 4. We carefully selected 8 designers and for some it was their first exhibition. Can you imagine how pleased the WCTA is that every single designer we have brought has made genuine retail contacts and three have actual orders! We did not expect this level of buyer activity and we are all extremely pleased to be a partner in this exceptionally well produced show. As for the Catwalk Theatre,,,,I can see why it is called a Theatre and not just a catwalk. It was terrific…really terrific.”

Huw Williams – Marketing Director of the Welsh Clothing and Textiles Association.

“Profile 4 has been a tremendous success for us. We had great interest from the new young designers and some have already benefited from the advice we gave while others will be attending free consultations we are offering over the next few days. We are very interested in working with LFF on Profile 5.”
Jon Barron of Hazlems Fenton www.HazlemsFenton.com Chartered accountants.

“I would just like to record our thanks for inviting the team to Profile 4 and wish to congratulate your team fro the successful organisation of the event.
We believe the event went very well and offered exhibitors a useful platform to promote their designs and fits in well between Graduate Fashion Week and London Fashion Week.”

“Just wanted to say congratulations on Profile, it was my first time there and although I only managed to catch a couple of stands and the show last night it was a refreshing break from the standard shows.
It was very well run and must be a huge inspiration to designers and buyers.
Well done and thanks for inviting us! Do let me know when Profile 5 is scheduled for.”
