Velvet Boutique and Kingly Court…

A hot bed of Scottish Talent in the LFF Boutique

The LFF are delighted to be working with the talented Scottish Enterprise to showcase a string of new Scottish designers both on the www.fashioncapital.co.uk on-line boutique and also at the Kingly Court Boutique off Carnaby Street London. In a unique initiative that sees real regional join-up in the UK the project has been spear headed by Hazel Brodie and kirsty Scott from Scottish Enterprise with Jeda Lewis, Director of the Scottish based Velvet Boutique.

Scotland is a hotbed of talented, innovative designers and their textile industry is recognised the world over for its diversity, quality and design.  Now the very best of Scottish fashion and accessory designers will be showcased at the Kingly Court Designer Boutique.

The Scottish Enterprise Textiles Team, www.scottish-textiles.co.uk in partnership with the London Fashion Forum, have created a unique opportunity. From October 2004, Scottish designers will now have a dedicated retail space within the Kingly Court Boutique.

Velvet Boutique, who represent new and innovative Scottish designers through their events and website, are project managing this initiative. Jeda Lewis, Director, founded Velvet Boutique because she felt it was time that Scottish designers were given the exposure, promotion and support they deserve: “There is a wealth of Scottish talent on our doorstep and our incredible range of designers really deserve to be showcased locally, nationally and internationally. The Kingly Court Boutique is a novel and fresh approach – which is exactly what the industry needs. It really is an ideal setting to view the brilliant collections from our up-and-coming designers.”
