H&M Team up With Alexander Wang For Latest Designer Collaboration

Following in the footsteps of French designer, Isabel Marant, the last designer to collaborate with H&M, Wang is the latest name in some of the industries best talents to work with the highstreet label, including Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld and Versace.
The news was broken via Wang’s official Instagram page, featuring a video of a basketball scoreboard showing a countdown clock with revealed the date to ‘Wang X HM’. It was then revealed at the Coachella Music Festival when a ‘Wang X HM’ banner was placed over the main stage, much to the joy of the young designer’s fans.
The much anticipated collection was received with positivity; with the hashtag #ALEXANDERWANGxHM soon trending after the news was broken. The young New-York based designer has announced that the collection will be apparel and accessories for both men and women. The collection is set to hit 250 H&M stores worldwide and online from November 6, 2014.
Wang, who is currently creative director for French fashion house Balenciaga, commented on his latest design venture saying, “I am honoured to be a part of H&M’s designer collaborations. The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to push boundaries and to set a platform for creativity. This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle.”
Margareta van den Bosch, H&M’s creative advisor added, “Alexander Wang is one of the most important voices in fashion today. He understands exactly what people want to wear and does it with an energy and passion that’s infectious. It feels incredible to be collaborating with him this year.”
