Kate Hills, founder and CEO of Make it British, explains: “We’ve been inundated with enquiries from people not only looking for manufacturers to help them make their product in the UK but also from people who would like to buy from brands that are making in Britain. That’s why we’re introducing a new ‘brands hall’ this year.”

The brands hall will give a selection of creative businesses the opportunity to showcase their distinct and inspirational labels in a dedicated space. Companies include: Geoff Stocker, producing high-end accessories for men; Isabella Queen, a British-based brand offering luxury leather accessories crafted in London and London Tradition, the premium outwear designer and manufacturer specializing in duffle coats.

Also new for 2017 are a series of free drop-in seminars, exploring ‘partnerships, production and provenance’ in UK manufacturing. Innovation will meet heritage as Simon Cotton of Johnstons of Elgin teams up with Hal Watts of Unmade to illustrate how a partnership between one of the UK’s most innovative manufacturers with one of the oldest is good for business.

As always FashionCapital’s sister company Fashion Enter will also be there to exhibit not only their manufacturing samples but to inform on production training, apprenticeships and careers.

Meet the Manufacturer is the only sourcing event exclusively for British fashion, textiles and homeware and includes a trade show, with over 150 exhibitors, and a series of workshops and seminars, connecting manufacturers of textiles, apparel and leather goods with buyers, designers and retailers looking to produce quality British-made products.

Meet the Manufacturer – organised by Make it British, on 24th and 25th May at The Old Truman Brewery, London.
