LFW: Yes Master at Vauxhall Fashion Scout
23-02-2007
Yes Master at Vauxhall Fashion Scout
The catwalk show opened with a spectacular dance of a winged model, wearing nothing but cream knickers. One of the very few male designers in the lingerie world, Yes Master’s, Igor Pacemski is not dedicated to SM or black lace at all – the label rather celebrates and embraces ultra-feminine designs. The image of the sex kitten, expressed with very short t-shirts in turquoise combined with fuchsia stocking suspenders was one of the many highlights on the runway.
The original designs feature vintage glamour as well as a playhouse atmosphere. The collection is produced in the finest quality – pure, satin or jersey silk mixes and cotton. Colours range from a pastel palette of bright pink and turquoise to cream and light blue at the other end. Dark red and green, in contrast, are used for corsets, which were combined with ballerina-style petticoats.
Despite some minor delays from the models (a well-intentioned “Hurry up†could be heard from backstage) and problems with music accordance, the catwalk show ended how it began; a dancing showgirl quartet wowed the audience, just before incumbent Miss England Eleanor Glynn stepped on the catwalk to congratulate the designer.
About Yes Master:
Whilst studying for his Master’s degree in chemistry Igor Pacemski was working part-time in retail, which led him to a buyer position at London’s Coco de Mer boutique. He started Yes Master in April 2004 and co-owns it with a top-end manufacturer in Oporto, Portugal. One of handbag.com’s hot designers 2006 to watch, Yes Master is one of the 15 nominated finalists of the Young Designer of the Year Award and the only lingerie brand to host a catwalk show at this season’s LFW.
