From 19–21 April 2013 Kipsala International Exhibition Centre, Riga, Latvia, will present the 18th International Textile, Fashion, Leathers and Production Equipment Fair “Fashion & Textile 2013” that will offer a vast exposition, fashion shows, conference, business promotion matchmaking, the newest spring-summer collection shows and the Competition for Young Fashion Designers “Habitus Baltija 2013”.

“Fashion & Textile 2013” will bring together renowned fashion professionals, manufacturers and sellers, and wide circles of audience. Being an international business communication and contact platform for fashion and textile professionals in the Baltic, Scandinavian, CIS countries and Russia enjoying a yearly growing popularity among participants and professional visitors, it provides a major contribution towards the further fashion and textile industry development.

This year’s fair will gather manufacturers and sellers of clothing, home textile, lingerie, leathers, fashion accessories, production equipment and supplies from Latvia and other countries.

Design Competitiveness Conference

On 19 April the fashion design conference gathering stylists, fashion experts, designers, manufacturers and other fashion professionals to discuss the global trends in fashion design, consumer buying habits and other topical issues will be held within the framework of “Fashion & Textile 2013” for the second consecutive year.

There will be numerous speakers from Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Italy and Great Britain and among them the costume designer and fashion journalist Liuba Popova (Italy) and the NICE Fashion editor-in-chief Tone Skårdal Tobiasson (Norway). Conference programme will be available on our website as of 10 December.

Business promotion platform

“Fashion & Textile 2013” this year continues the B2B Matchmaking for business and cooperation promotion launched successfully last year. It is aimed to give impetus to international business, to lay the foundations for new joint ventures and business projects. The organisers have already registered 33 participating enterprises from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Great Britain, Russia and other countries.

Creative collections of young fashion designers at Habitus Baltija 2013

On 20 April the 13th Competition for Young Fashion Designers “Habitus Baltija 2013” will bring together emerging fashion designers from Latvia and other countries among whom will also be the students of the ESMOD Paris Fashion School. The competition offers impressive prizes, for instance, a scholarship for summer courses at La Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano (NABA). “Habitus Baltija” is the only official fashion event included in the programme of European Capital of Culture – Riga 2014 events.
