Graveney School Visits Fashion Enter and the FTA!

22-11-2016
On Tuesday 22nd November Fashion Enter and the Fashion Technology Academy welcomed a young group of students from Graveney School. Alongside their teachers the group spent the morning finding out more about Fashion Enter, the FTA and education services provided including apprenticeships and the stitching academy!
After an introduction hosted by Fashion Enter CEO, the group were left amazed and wanting to see for themselves how garments are produced in a live working factory. With Fashion Enter welcoming guests with doors wide open, Jenny led the students to the factory floor where she explained how garments are manufactured; from starting with the basics and creating lay plans to cutting the material, they saw first-hand how the amazing team of highly skilled seamstresses create the many beautiful garments for companies including ASOS and M&S. Highlighting health and safety and the importance of quality control checks, Jenny then took the group to the Fashion Studio where they met Rosie, Kasia and the rest of the team who work hard to help smaller brands.
From here the under-16s were able to see what the FTA students are currently working on, as well as meeting the tutors in the stitching academy who explained what our 6 week course enables the students to learn!
