George at Asda Visit Fashion Enter

12-12-2024

Employees from George at ASDA attended one of our highly successful Factory Uncovered workshops to learn how an ethical factory in the UK operates and what they should be looking out for when they visit manufacturers.

With the ability to offer a hands on insight into the manufacturing of garments here in the UK, the group of employees had the opportunity to tour our factory with CEO Jenny Holloway, with input from our highly valued members of staff.  From inital pattern cutting to quality control checks they learned how their own work impacts each stage of production and what they can do to help ensure a swift operation.

georgeatasdaaugustThroughout the tour Jenny was on hand to inform the group of the health and safety procedures in place here at Fashion Enter, the equipment used, what makes us a SMETA approved factory, issues that can be found and how they are resolved.

Feedback from the group included;

‘I have learnt thought processes behind lay planning and how a small amend on a garment can create lots of consequences in fit of a garment.’ Claire – Assistant Buyer

‘I lovd this workshop, I found it really interesteing and informative. All the speakers seemed knowledgeable and passionate about their roles. I really enjoyed the upfront honesty!’ Bridie – Assistant Merchandiser

‘I have learnt a great deal about what actually happens in a factory – costs, fit diagnostics, cost saving, proceedures, issues and how to rectify and machine timings. All presenters very interesting to listen to, I appreciated the personal shared experiences. Really enjoyed it!’ Ellie – Assistant Buyer Menswear Jersey
