Tom Ford Opens Flagship Store in the UK

09-07-2012

The new development will be 201-206 Sloane Street and is heard to be an 8,000 square ft. Store which will set Tom Ford back a whopping £1.34 million a year on rent, which means that he will have to shift a lot of clothes fast (but I’m sure that many celebrities will be more than happy to help). As well as Tom Ford, designer Alberta Ferretti will also be joining Sloane Street after recently acquiring a 6,000 square ft unit for their new store.

The new Tom Ford store is set to open in 2013 and will feature the whole range including womenswear, accessories, beauty and fragrance.  The best news of all is Tom Ford’s range of menswear which, at the moment, is only available in Selfridges. The date has not yet been confirmed for the opening. The store is a good way of sealing the reputation of Sloane Street and giving it a more expensive, luxurious feel. There has been a strong demand for retail space and the new luxury retail sector is a good way of battling the economic climate. Tom Ford’s new shop will be very well settled between other designer stores including Chanel, Gucci and Louis Vuitton.

The opening of the new Tom Ford store is major news in the world of fashion as it is the first standalone shop in the UK and Sloane Street is in huge demand.  Ford’s new shop is said to be housed on Sloane Street for a minimum 10 year period. Sounds like pure heaven, however, I’m sure that many people’s bank managers will not agree! It has also been rumoured that Mr Ford will also be responsible for the wardrobe for the new James Bond film “Skyfall” along with Jany Temime dressing Daniel Craig, after all, James Bond does need a suit and who else fits the job better than Ford?
