Your FCFTA Leicester Has (Almost) Arrived

Just one week on and as you can see from the photos the FC Fashion Technology Academy (FTA) in Leicester is coming along nicely. Since we were given the go-ahead on our new premises its been all hands to the pump – preparing the space and educational agenda.
We are thrilled to announce that we will be ready to open on Tuesday 27th August and will also be able to offer a Fashion Studio for sampling and production along with a repairs service with the United Repair Centre.
Assistant Manager Divya Kamath said: “I am extremely happy that we have won two contracts, including one for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, to continue with our delivery of skills and qualifications. The team and I are really looking forward to growing the early success of the Academy, and as we have already seen with previous individuals the FTA not only delivers on qualifications and skills, but helps to build confidence, give direction and supports positive mental wellbeing.
“We are really grateful to Leicester City Council for providing continued support and we will begin delivering our courses from the heart of Leicester from Tuesday 27th August.”
Fashion-Enter Ltd Founder Jenny Holloway added: “Over the last two weeks there has been intense activity to ensure Phoenix House is ready to open its doors on Tuesday 27th August, with a formal launch the following month. Huge thank-you to everyone involved including Tim Snowball, Alan May and Triumph Needle Company crew, TJ Electrics, Andrew Kitchen and of course the amazing Divya.
“We are so ready to deliver on the UKSPF funded program for skills. The new space is much larger so we shall shortly be opening a Fashion Studio for sampling and pattern making, plus a repair centre with United Repair Centre! Let the good times roll!”

1 Day Summer Stitching Classes
The FC Designer Workspace campus in Islington has been hosting a range of 1 day summer sewing classes for intermediate sewers. The feedback from these sessions has been fantastic and we are pleased to say the four classes will be taking place again next week:
27th Aug Creating a dress
28th Aug Creating a skirt
29th Aug Creating a trouser
30th Aug Creating a bodice with sleeves

Need Space to Work?
We have rental places available at our Islington campus the FC Designer Workspace. The campus includes: Pattern Cutting Table, Flatbed Machines, Overlocker Machines, Babylocker Machines and Button Machine.
If you are an ex-student, designer, freelancer, experienced sewer, industrial machine user then the space is available to rent.
Prices:
£10 plus VAT/hour (3 Hours min)
£65 plus VAT/day (8 Hours max)
£275 plus VAT/week
