Supporting Charities this Christmas
A Call To Garms – Crisis Pop Up
Last Wednesday Fashion Studio Assistant, Gee, volunteered at the Crisis pop-up store ‘A Call To Garms’ on Savile Row. Crisis is the UK national charity for people experiencing homelessness and the pop up was generously supported by the various brands and retailers in the area. The shop was buzzing and included some amazing one-off gems.
Crisis X Fat Cap Sprays
At FEL in Haringey we have just completed the Crisis X Fat Cap Sprays tote bags and they are being delivered as we speak.
And that’s not all, if you buy one of our Mystery Upcycling Packs (containing 3 deadstock garments from our ethical factory, trims, thread and more) we will donate 20% to Crisis.
Tottenham Food Bank
Gee has also volunteered at the local Tesco to collect donations for Tottenham Food Bank. FEL staff in Haringey will be donating store cupboard essentials this week to support this much-needed resource.

Excelling at Technical Skills
FEL has a proven track record in skills and training in the fashion and textiles sector. This has led to their own dedicated budgets for apprenticeships with employers that have levy money available for training. As with all apprenticeships moderations are a necessity for quality assurance, and on Tuesday 12th December FEL had their moderation with UAL for the Fashion Studio Assistant apprenticeship.
Senior External Moderator at UAL Awarding Body Sarah Atkinson said: “I would like to thank Rachel and Fashion-Enter for their help with the facilitation of Digital Moderation and the continued level of excellence for students undertaking this qualification.”
Tours and Technical Residencies
This week we have had South Bank University and Fashion Retail Academy students take the factory tour and seminar in Haringey. Meanwhile, the FCFTA Leicester had a group from Nottingham Trent University in for a technical residency.
The 3-hour residency kicked off with an overview of sourcing strategies provided by Fashion-Enter Ltd Deputy CEO Jackie Bertram and was followed by a making / stitching practical using the industrial machines.
Feedback from the session was excellent and the Leicester campus was pleased to provide a tailor made residency that suits the needs of the learners.
Contact: divya@fashion-enter.com if you are interested in a technical residency or workshop.
