London Menswear Week – 15th June 2012 – Martine Rose

 

Again Alexa Chung made an appearance on the front row, although she had a quick outfit change from earlier. The collection continued the 80’s vibe of Topman but went for the more muted tones of acid washed denim with oversized baggy legs and double waistband that saw the fitted one for cut with one that then draped over at the front. Double denim was back with a vengeance with denim jeans teamewith shirting and jackets. Both of which came with options of knitted or neoprene sleeves.

Handprints were pasted in paint or woven into the knit as a surface decoration of choice. Neoprene jackets and tees were super boxy and over exaggerated shoulders were balanced by skinny faux snake skin trousers in high shine vinyl coating.

A collection of bold shapes and strong textures with a tongue in cheek edge.
