Just Style Features Fashion – Enter with ‘Fashion’s Return to Leicester’ Article

On 3rd February, just-style.com featured a proactive article on Fashion-Enter’s Leicester Made trade show and how sourcing from the region could change the game for UK manufacturing.
Compiled by Laura Husband, the interview with Fashion-Enter Ltd CEO Jenny Holloway, states:
It is “inevitable the UK will start to grow in garment manufacturing,” before adding: “And when I heard yesterday about this one retailer [returning to Leicester] I was delighted because it will create the tsunami we need.”
“It’s (Leicester) got everything you need: Trimming, fabrics, knitters, printers. Plus, it has a genuinely great bunch of people that work really hard.”
She explains the direction of fashion sourcing is to buy lower quantities at a higher price to get a read on the latest trends, asserting: “Who else can compete with this production within a two to three-week period? It’s impossible”.
She also believes there will be an onus of responsibility on UK fashion retailers in future given the push for extended producer responsibility, digital product passports and legislation that will give consumers a right to repair.
Holloway doesn’t shy away from Leicester’s past but asserts: “There’s been a tainted paintbrush that’s gone across Leicester suggesting it is unethical, but if you think about it, that’s obviously ridiculous.”
She’s keen for her upcoming show to remind UK fashion brands and retailers of the region’s unique ecosystem and how it is very beneficial to the fashion supply chain: “It’s got everything you need: Trimming, fabrics, knitters, printers. Plus, it has a genuinely great bunch of people that work really hard.”
She reveals that in any industry or sector you will always get the good and bad, but she “absolutely believes” that “any companies that were in the more grey areas have either upgraded themselves or are no longer in existence”.
