Textiles 2030 Transforms into the UK Textiles Pact

23-05-2025

Textiles 2030 is transitioning into the UK Textiles Pact, aligning it with WRAP’s other major voluntary agreements—the UK Food & Drink Pact and the UK Plastics Pact.

Launched in April 2021, Textiles 2030 built on the foundations of the earlier Sustainable Clothing Action Plan 2020 (SCAP 2020). This evolution into the UK Textiles Pact comes just nine months after WRAP unveiled a refreshed brand and sharpened global mission focused on advancing Circular Living across industries and households.

While the name is changing, the core objectives of the initiative remain the same. Signatories to the UK Textiles Pact continue to work toward:

More than 130 organisations from across the fashion and textiles supply chain—including trade associations and charities—have committed to the Pact’s shared goals.

Government support remains strong. In March, Environment Secretary Steve Reed highlighted the importance of the initiative while addressing the Circular Economy Taskforce, noting that the Pact will play a key role in delivering the UK’s textiles strategy.

The UK Textiles Pact is a cornerstone of WRAP’s Textiles Action Network, which connects global and regional initiatives to exchange insights, share best practices, and drive the global textiles industry toward net zero through a circular economy approach.

Learnings from the Pact are also shaping international policy, including the G7 Agenda on Circular Textiles and Fashion, where WRAP serves as a Joint Action Lead.

Mark Sumner, Programme Lead for the UK Textiles Pact, emphasised the benefits of membership:
“Businesses that join the UK Textiles Pact gain direct access to WRAP’s expert team, evidence-based tools, practical resources, and collaborative forums. It’s a trusted, non-competitive network built on innovation, expertise, and a shared drive to meet the sector’s sustainability challenges.”
