06-12-2019

Fashion-Enter’s fast-track quality apparel factory has just been graded as ‘Leading’ after a recent Fast Forward audit. This equates to a Green grading which is a brilliant achievement for the Factory and the team.

Fashion-Enter Factory in North London

Fast Forward is a next-generation supply chain labour standards improvement programme that works for all suppliers and service providers, in all sectors, at all stages of their social compliance journey.

ASOS.com became a founding member of Fast Forward in 2014, an initiative involving other major UK retailers, aimed at addressing UK-specific supply chain issues. Throughout the year Auditor Jill Banga made scheduled and unannounced visits to the Factory where she had to undertake thorough inspections and cover the following questions:

– Has the business implemented appropriate management systems to ensure that only legally eligible and properly registered workers are actually working at the site(s)?

– Are working hours legal and reasonable?

– Does the business have appropriate health and safety management processes in place?

– Does the business have appropriate health and safety management processes in place?

– Is a safe and hygienic workplace provided?

– Does the business operate to well developed and integrated ethical labour standards policies and procedures?

– Does the business operate to well developed and integrated ethical labour standards policies and procedures?

– Has the business developed, implemented and applied effective due diligence processes to monitor the ethical labour standards practices of its suppliers and service providers?

Feedback after every audit is welcomed by the team at Fashion-Enter as we strive to create a production facility that is compliant with the best of working practices. The team have worked hard on any areas that have needed improvement and after an unannounced visit on the 13th November 2019 the audit was complete.

Deme, Ethical Trade Partner at ASOS.com said:

“I can see that you have gone beyond compliance on a number of our technical standards, including areas around imposter switching and ethical labour practices in your supply chain, which has contributed to your Leading status and I would like to thank you and your whole teams efforts into making this happen.”

The audit revealed that the business had made significant improvement under management systems around supply chain mapping and raising awareness of modern slavery to workers. This is excellent news for Fashion-Enter, the Factory and the ethical issues surrounding ‘Made in the UK’ production.
