Beware of Fake Websites: FEL’s In – House Brand Belles of London Has Been Copied!

When a man walked into Fashion-Enter Ltd’s Islington campus demanding a refund for a low quality jumper alarm bells rang loud and clear. Fashion-Enter’s in-house brand, built on made-to-order, made-in-the-UK quality, Belles of London, had been duped, albeit in name only.

Just one letter drop and online customers thought they were buying UK made products. As the festive season approaches along with tempting offers and sales please make sure you check who you are buying from. This is a prime time for scammers that set up, what appear to be, legitimate looking websites. Once shoppers have made a purchase they receive counterfeit, poorly made or incorrect items – and sometimes nothing at all.

The FEL team have worked hard to ensure their Belles of London brand is centred on ethical, timeless designs that fit perfectly and are made in London!

FEL engaged with law firm Clifford Chance regarding the issue and we are pleased to report that the copy website can no longer be reached. FEL Founder and CEO Jenny Holloway said: “I am so thankful and appreciative of Clifford Chance for their support and advice. Within just a week of the first complaint we received from an angry customer complaining of faulty goods from the spam site they advised us succinctly and managed to have the site removed from the web. Incredibly important for damage limitation! I could not commend Clifford Chance highly enough.”
