N17 Creative Callings: Another Earthling Headpieces Now Available on SilkFred.com

Founder and designer of ‘Another Earthling’ headwear brand – Mary Obaseki is well-known to the Fashion-Enter team, keen to evolve her brand of handmade accessories Mary joined the N17 Creative Callings business support initiative in 2020.

N17 Creative Callings offers tailored business advice to creatives based in the N17 region of north London. Mary has embraced advice and suggestions from the team which has led to: Being stocked at Fashion-Enter’s shop FC Designer Collective on Fonthill Road, gaining a studio amongst other likeminded creatives at the FC Designer Workspace, working on collaborative collections with other designers such as Diva Choice, and now, we are pleased to announce, her unique designs can be viewed and bought on the online fashion platform SilkFred.com.

Seeing a brand develop and gain new customers is always very exciting, therefore the Fashion-Enter team were thrilled to hear that the meeting set up with SilkFred was a success. SilkFred was launched in 2011 and from small beginnings has grown to now feature over 800 independent brands, Mary’s brand Another Earthling will initially showcase 15 headpiece styles on the popular e-commerce platform.

Mary’s designs are perfect for the party season and are available in a selection of colours and finishes. From fully sequinned to scarlet satin Mary’s headbands create a dramatic finishing touch to any dressed up outfit.

Mary comments: “I’m so delighted to have been selected to sell with SilkFred through meeting Fliss on the very first day we opened the FC Designer Workspace, what a wonderful end to the year!”

On working with Fashion-Enter and the N17 Creative Callings programme she added: “As a one woman small business, you take on every aspect and have to learn as you go, that can be overwhelming and quite isolating so it’s a massive blessing to be included in this project. From from my products being in a local bricks and mortar shop and the mentoring, to just being part of something creative with other like minded local women is amazing.”
