Brexit Has Now Been Evoked But it’s Business as Usual!
22 European delegates visited Fashion Enter yesterday (28 March 2017) organised through Rinova as part of their Erasmus+ European Partnerships for Apprenticeships. The group reviewed how education is intertwined with the fashion manufacturing skills. The two-hour meeting was inspiring and new ways of integrating education with Technical Levels was discussed.
Jenny commented: “Our doors are fully opened to provide international knowledge transfer opportunities with our European partners. Teachers and students are both warmly welcomed. Thanks to Rinova for organising the day.”
Europe1 Radio Station Interview
Following allegations from the manufacturing association EEF that 60% of its business members will be adversely affected by Brexit, Walid, a French reporter working with the News Radio station Europe1, came to visit the factory. Nelly one of our machinists explained she’s been in the country for 9-years and feels ‘hurt’ by the decision to leave the EU. She continued to say that she couldn’t understand what the issues were as no one at Fashion Enter was taking away a job from a UK citizen. UK citizens are unfortunately lacking in these much needed skills. However, Jacqueline Stanica and Josephine Adebolu (pictured below with Jenny and Walid) from the Stitching Academy, hope to address this core skills gap and added that they are the new generation of stitchers!
