We Welcome Sophie Glover to Our Teaching Team
We are delighted to confirm that Sophie Glover (pictured right) will be joining our teaching team for six weeks commencing beginning of June. We have worked with Sophie for almost ten years and she was instrumental in ensuring the first Level 3 apprenticeships in garment technology were established. This is great news for the team.
In the Press
Susie Bubble popped by last week to see what we are all about and how Haringey is becoming known on the fashion production radar. We were also featured in this rather fabulous spread in the latest edition of Sew Magazine.

Apprentices Learn From Industry
Last week the Level 3 apprentices visited global etailer ASOS.com’s headquarters as part of their extra curriculum enrichment activities.
The tour provided an overview of how each of the different areas of the business operate including the Ecommerce operation, sampling room right through to styling and promotion of the garments before they reach the consumer.
‘It was really interesting seeing a different working environment and all of the different job roles there.’ Jade
The Level 3 cohort also received a talk from Gütermann, the company chosen as the best sewing thread in the UK 2015. The learners were taught all about the different types of threads they sell to improve the quality of garments.
‘I have learnt the uses of different threads, importance of tension and cause / solutions for puckering. Very informative!’ Roxanne
Enrichment activities are a vital part of the learning process on the apprenticeship programme. Huge thank-you to both Asos.com and Gutterman.

ESOL Classes for Staff
We are pleased to support staff members with free ESOL classes:
Leyla Mehmet:
“The class is thoroughly enjoyable and is giving us the ability to improve our English reading and writing skills whilst working together as a team. I have been attending these weekly classes for around seven months now and have completed my Level 1 and Level 2 exams successfully, passing with flying colors. Its great to see how all the students who have attended these classes have drastically improved their English skills and are happy to be there.”
Feride Eminova:
“I really enjoy these classes. In the short time that I have been attending, my English has drastically improved and has allowed me to begin to communicate with my work colleagues far more comfortably. It has definitely boosted my confidence and I thank Jenny and Fashion Enter for making this available to us as staff.”
Valentina Ivan:
“A big thank-you. Upon my arrival at Fashion Enter, my English was very minimal and I found it difficult to understand what others were saying. How ever, now after attending these classes on a weekly basis for 8 months, my English is better than I ever thought it would be. I have been able to develop my speaking and understanding of the language as well as my reading and writing skills. Now I am always talking in English.”
Pioneering Women
Tonight our CEO Jenny Holloway will be attending Pioneering Women: Caring for a century and beyond. The event supports Combat Stress, the UK’s leading mental health charity for Veterans. Along with drinks and networking attendees will hear about the influential role women played in setting up the charity almost 100 years ago.
The Latest from the Fashion Studio
A regular at our in-house Fashion Studio is designer Siobhan Molloy. After graduating from the Manchester Metropolitan University with a B. A. Hons in Fashion, Siobhan worked in the design studio of Karen Millen before taking the plunge and starting her own contemporary label.
The label SIOBHAN MOLLOY was born in 2015 from a burning passion to design and manufacture her uncompromised vision of beautiful individual garments right here in the UK at price points designed not to intimidate.
With a keen eye for detail and quality, the label focus’s on clean aesthetic design, fluidity and an easy to wear elegance. The debut 12-piece collection fuses a sports luxe edge with feminine nuances.
“I believe passionately in making right here in the UK and showing the world what a huge skill base we have. Working with the Fashion Studio has been a fantastic and invaluable experience. It feels like a home from home now. Kasia, Rosie, Dominique and the team are very welcoming and attentive and their knowledge and skill is exceptional. They are waving the flag for British manufacturing and not only helping me, but many others to achieve their personal and business goals.”
With a new collection about to launch in June and an exciting year ahead, make sure you keep up to date with all Siobhan’s adventures by following her on social media.
