Introducing Shush Swimwear
‘My name is Sophie, I am 24-years old, and I’m into unique fashion, something different and out of the ordinary – I don’t like to be the same as anyone else, I want to wear something where someone says to me ‘WOW where did you get that from!!! I want people to buy my unique and bespoke collection, and not produce thousands of the same piece! I prefer to create a dozen of one style and those lucky dozen girls get to look absolutely amazing without anyone else stealing their limelight!
My auntie, who I mostly got my inspiration from, is so talented and has been a dressmaker for years. I spent hours in her little sewing room while she taught me patterns, simple stitches and believe it or not… how to pin the fabric before sewing, yes pinning! I now have a small collection of handmade items which I work on at the weekend and when I’m home from work on weekdays. My dad helped me to set up a website for all my items and after a lot of hard work and late nights, it wasn’t long until I had Pixie Lott wearing my bikini along with some other TV reality stars, I also featured on FashionFinders.com, The Daily Mail online and in Vogue magazine! Pixie Lott was also pictured in the Sun newspaper in one of my items!
I am now enrolled on Fashion Enter’s Stitching for Designers course and I hope one day to get a Bricks & Mortar shop/studio of my own! One room for sewing and another room for selling! There is so much to come from SHUSH in the future and I can’t wait!!’
