Dear all,
Can you believe that one summer 16-years ago FashionCapital.co.uk was born! The idea was to provide a one-stop shop for those entering into the highly competitive world of fashion and here we 16-year later, still providing support, advice and knowledge to the industry’s next generation.
Sister company Fashion Enter is now 12-years old, focusing on all those learning and production needs, CEO Jenny Holloway comments:
“My, how time flies! Today is the end of Fashion Enter’s financial year and a big shout to everyone for pulling out all the stops for this record-breaking year. Production has now hit the heady heights of 10,000 units a week!

“The Fashion Studio is flying with wonderful accounts such as Matthew Williamson, Molly Goddard, Michaela Jedinak and our fabulous brands such as Well Cool Pyjamas by Kirsty and Beani & Bear by Noya.
“And that’s not all, the Fashion Technology Academy has now had its first full year of trading too with a total of over 600 qualifications being attained. Marvellous.”
“None of this would be possible without the fantastic staff behind the company, all I can say is I’m immensely proud of each and everyone.
“Very big plans for year 12 are already underway!”

Tehia McDermott (left) comments: “I am so overjoyed that I have been selected for this unique apprenticeship at this stage of my life. Without the opportunity to join the Tomorrow’s Designers Stitching Academy I would not be in this position now. The timing feels like destiny. This opportunity will prepare me for a future that I have envisioned for myself. This is an amazing experience that I will make the most of. I look forward to learning, working hard and embracing the adventure that this opportunity will bring. Thank you.”
Jacqueline Stancia (right) adds: “Although I had basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine joining the Stitching Academy has helped me tremendously to gain confidence and the skills I need to start my own label. I feel so much more confident and I love that I am learning. Thank you.”

Boutique Piece of the Week
This week, we’ve selected something a little different, Karen J. Gerrard, was attending a millinery course at The London College of Fashion, when she noticed how hands got cut, burnt sore, pin-pricked and dry. She couldn’t find a hand cream to help heal and moisturise that wasn’t greasy, so she created her own made in the UK formula – SEAMS.

Launched at LFW and a favourite backstage with make-up artists and seamstresses in TV and Film studio’s, SEAMS helps mend, moisturise, soften, soothe hands, condition cuticles, strengthen nails and help fade age spots. The non- greasy formula means that hands-on work can continue without leaving a greasy residue.
