Newsletter 13th November 2013

Dear all,

High street footwear retailer Barratts has gone into administration for the third time in four years, stating “difficult trading conditions” as the reason, and once again putting more than 1,000 jobs at risk. As the multiples and independents up their game to entice customer footfall and spend other savvy retailers are turning their high street stores into distribution centres to cut costs and improve customer service in the run up to Christmas. If retail analysts are right then we can expect to see more showrooms and distribution outlets to support online businesses on our High Streets in the near future.

On FashionCapital This Week…

Last night, Tuesday 12th November, Jessie J lit up Oxford Street with a powerful performance to accompany the festive light switch on. Tomorrow, 14th November the latest H&M designer collaboration with Isabel Marant will hit the stores and we took a sneak peek at one of the designs courtesy of stylist Courtney Smith. Our resident journalist Katie Farley reviews Temperley’s latest S/S 14 collection full of fairy tale floral romance. And if you are booking a model for the first time we provide some essential information and guidance in our ‘Top Tips’ section.
