NEWSLETTER 10th December 2014
Changes are afoot, after much industry speculation Karl-Heinz Muller has announced that the previously successful trade show Bread & Butter has cancelled its January edition. Muller commented in a statement: “We have not been able to motivate a sufficient number of exhibitors to participate this season. I am convinced of the fact that our successful concept cannot be continued by repeating the past. Maybe something great has to end so that something new can arise. Our whole fashion industry is at a point of radical change. This is why challenges of the future have to be met with new solutions.”
Fourteen years on from the very first edition it is thought that brands are no longer committing to large trade show exhibitions and are spending more time on online marketing and sales initiatives.

Perfect Pattern Cutting Courses
The Perfect Pattern Cutting course is well underway, the learners have been enrolled onto the intense, six-week course and in just over one-week have already began learning how to draft and grade using e-Telestia methodology and tools.
Learning from pattern expert Alice Prier, the students have created made-to-measure base blocks to fit their bodies and will develop further designs from this piece.
“It’s a very interesting learning experience.”
“The course is very quick, we have learnt so much is such a short amount of time.”
“I’ve learnt pattern cutting in the past, however with the e-Telestia method I feel like I’ve learnt more in one-week than I ever did before. When you’re in college they give you ready-made blocks, here we’ve made from scratch.”

Boutique Pick of the Week
There is something very appealing about Dorothy’s red shoes in ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and forevermore designers have channeled this to create their own show-stopping versions. Here a classic court heel has been all wrapped-up in an oversized bow and the bright red shade gives a heavy nod to Dorothy and her magical footwear. Not just a pretty party shoe these heels are made from faux leather and suede, ticking those vegetarian and vegan boxes and are handcrafted in Spain.
Beyond Skin Ellen red print heels £130 available in sizes 36 to 40.
Until next time, have a great week,
