SOS – over 1000 signatures

The quest to ‘Save our Shop’ continues and last Saturday saw 100s of people in Croydon show their support for Fashion Enter’s SOS campaign to obtain Discretionary Rates for the “not for profit” boutique situated in Centrale’s Shopping Centre.

Over a 1000 people have now signed the petition to allow Fashion Enter to stay in Centrale and they have received some excellent support. On Saturday Chocolate Blonde, the talented singer, came to the boutique and gave an impromptu performance.

Fashion Enter have now vowed to fight on and respectfully request the Council to grant Discretionary Rates so they can continue their work in Croydon. The petition will be submitted shortly directly to the council and if needed further action will be taken at regional and national level.

Adult
College of Barking and Dagenham

Yesterday the 15 week series of seminars and workshops commenced at the Adult College of Barking and Dagenham with an introduction to the fashion industry. It was fantastic to meet all the students who will now go to learn about the design process, moodboards, illustration, retail and much more. Each student now has a profile of themselves up on FashionCapital which can be found in Learning Profiles.

Retail News

The latest retail casualty is BHS which is 39.6% down in operating profit of £30.2m for year ending March 29th 08. Sales fell 1.4% to £860.3m and were down 2.9% on a like-for-like basis. Trading figures not bad as spent £50m on shop refurbishment

Boutique Pick of the Week

This stunning dress is by Corsellis. It was recently worn in the ‘Save our Shop’ campaign at the Croydon Fashion Enter Boutique. It nips in tight at the waist flattering curves and gives a peep of cleavage… never fear if you don’t have any! The frills distract and the rouching gives the illusion that there might be something under there!
The halter neck means it fits most cup sizes. The full skirt is gorgeous and can be dressed up with some metallic leggings, heels and jewellery, or dressed down with a leather jacket and ballet pumps.
It’s a bargain at £70, and you can pick one up on the internet at
www.enter-boutique.com or in the Fashion-Enter Boutique in Croydon, but only if you get there before me!

Corsellis

Until next time, have a great week
