Profile, the designer platform held in conjunction with Fashion Expo, is certainly hotting up. Our sister company Fashion-Enter is organising the event has already received numerous applications. Sponsored by Hobbs, Debenhams and Whistles, Profile provides an amazing opportunity for womenswear, menswear and accessories designers to showcase their creations. The team has already begun the gruelling short-listing process and is pleased to announce that the following have made it to the next stage:

These are just a few of the designers that have been short-listed so far. All short-listed applicants will be invited to attend an interview at the Tea Rooms on Shoreditch High Street on Wednesday 6th September.
Fashion Expo in Association with Profile is scheduled for the 5th & 6th November at the Business Design Centre, Islington, London N1.
Youth Enterprise Programme
Director Jenny Holloway was blown away by the standard of work on show at the recent Youth Enterprise Programme presentation. The project helps disadvantaged teenagers focus and progress in their careers, an initiative supported by Fashion-Enter and the Getting It Right First Time programme. Meanwhile, London Fashion Week is gearing up for its Spring/Summer 08 season. The provisional catwalk schedule is now ready to view on the LFW website and Lulu Kennedy’s new designer platform: Fashion East has announced who will be showing on their S/S 08 catwalk.

Face of Croydon
And finally we would like to announce the top three models that received the most votes from the R U the Face of Croydon competition. Over 40 would-be models were styled and shot by the Xyris team. All the images were showcased on FashionCapital and we’ve been counting those clicks ever since.
The top three were:
Alinda Sinabulga

When revealed to Alinda she had made the final three she was overjoyed, “The day was so much fun; I’m really pleased to have been a part of it. There were so many different people there who were all really outgoing and friendly making it a great environment to be in. I definitely would love to do something like this again in the future.”
Gosia Walec

Gosia explained, “It was a wonderful experience, I have never done anything like this before. I have always been interested in fashion; I love fashion so modeling these wonderful garments was a great opportunity for me. I can’t believe I’m in the top three, I’m so pleased.”
Bronwyn Amos

Bronwyn was delighted when she discovered she was also one of the winners, “I’m really pleased, I had such a great day and now to be chosen as one of the top three is even better. Thank you so much to everyone who was involved.”
Luigi from New Dymensions Model Management commented: “New Dymensions has undertaken a complete revamp on its company ethos and we have very select models on to our books. This event showcased a wealth of new potential models and we are delighted with the resulting winners. New Dymensions will now help progress these models further and help them every step of the way.”
