Newsletter 3rd August 2016

Dear all,

We make no bones about the fact that we work hard here at FashionCapital and sister company Fashion Enter, we strive to ensure success at every level and when this gets noticed, well, we can’t help but feel good and share it!  Dawn O’Porter the British writer and television presenter with her own vintage inspired clothing line called BOB recently said this:

3 aug dawn o porterIf you really want to learn about fashion get into the Fashion Technology Academy run by Fashion Enter. They teach real technique when it comes to garment construction, as well as industry skills that will prepare you properly for a career in fashion. I love their ethos, and the factory is fantastic. It’s a real hands-on approach to learning your craft, making clothes for the likes of Marks & Spencer’s, ASOS.com and Finery. They also make for London Fashion Week designers and start ups, so you’ll get work experience in plenty of areas. Their credentials are so impressive, and the calibre of teaching is very high. I couldn’t recommend this route into fashion more.

Yesterday we welcomed four new learners including Pamela Shor (pictured below) onto our Level 1 Perfect Patterns course here at the Fashion Technology Academy.

This Week on FashionCapital.co.uk

In Trends Shivanee Tailor talks Suicide Squad style, meanwhile she joins Rebekah Litherland to report directly from the London based menswear trade show Jacket Required. In Business Advice we discuss The Snapchat Impact and the increasing demand for video content. And in News we reveal the latest manufacturing results demonstrate that there is some downfall in the sector since Brexit. On this Jenny Holloway CEO of Fashion Enter states: ‘Whilst the EEF report is showing that there is much anxiety that surrounds the fate of the manufacturing sector especially in terms of exports and exchange rates, there are niches in production which needs fast response quality products. Positively, the garment manufacturing is definitely on the up in London.’
