Moschino and Thomas Tait Announced as Guest Designers at Pitti Uomo 88
Jeremy Scott is making an exclusive menswear debut in Italy since he took over the reins at Moschino in 2013 for the event. “In Jeremy Scott’s collections, we see the humour, the irreverence, the tendency to explode myths – all that we knew to be part of Franco Moschino’s spirit and designs,” commented Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine.
Scott’s signature combination and manipulation of fabrics and tongue-in-cheek yet luxurious designs were the main reasons behind the designer’s exclusive invite.
LVMH prize winner Thomas Tait will be presenting as guest designer for womenswear. After quickly becoming a ‘must see’ show at London Fashion Week, it was Tait’s flawless tailoring and unexpected injects of volume that secured him a spot at the latest edition of Pitti Uomo. “Tait presents all this without being afraid to experiment and push the border further. So we decided to offer him the opportunity to express his creativity here in Florence.” Communications & events director Lapo Cianchi commented.
In addition to the Guest Designers shows the latest edition of the Italian trade show will also play host to the first exhibition dedicated to life and style of Nino Cerruti and Carlo Brandelli.
The 88th edition of Pitti Uomo will run from June 16-19 2015.
