The Factory blog – 19/11/10

19-11-2010

The machinists were extremely busy all week, as they had to manufacture 1000 units for the GABBY black dress. They worked hard and all that hard work is evident in the quality of the final products.

The office was busy as well, as on Tuesday a Fashion Enter all-day seminar took place where several speakers took part such as Jenny Holloway, Syreeta McQueen and Jenni Sutton. The seminar ranged through a vast selection of subjects on production, retail, the importance of PR and also looking at more technical areas such as sampling. The seminar came to an end with a feedback and review questionnaire to round everything up together, which is of fundamental use.

On Wednesday, Sophie Glover of ASOS and our own Jenny Holloway had a meeting in which the Factory and the Apprenticeship were discussed, and we are sure great ideas arose from the meeting.

The ‘Be Business Read’ seminar, presented on Thursday by Nigel Rust aimed at emerging designers, discussed how their work and design brand can be developed, in order to readily embark on a design career within the fashion industry and successfully grow. This week looked at How Much Are You Really Making? If you would like to attend the next three seminars by Nigel covering topics such as How Rich Are You Going To Be? and Getting the Most Out of Your Manufacturer please email jenni@fashion-enter.com for details.

Have a great week!
