Fashion Enter brings production back to Britain

Since The Factory launched a year ago, 260,000 garments have been produced at a rate of 5,000 a week for big names such as asos.com and John Lewis. press1

 

Fashion Enter is at the heart of all aspects of the British fashion industry. The company includes The Factory, Workshop, Showroom and Retail boutique. It is the sister company of ‘FashionCapital.co.uk’ which is the UK’s leading Fashion Portal, providing services that cater for upcoming designers, retailers, manufactures and fashion students.

 

Since opening, the impressive quality of production and skills has brought the fashion industry knocking. The Factory now produces garments for clients such as ASOS, John Lewis, Oasis, HotSquash, Belle Sauvage and designers such as Anna Paola and Rebecca                                                                                Torres an ASOS find who won Scottish designer of the year.

The Factory’s services consist of patternmaking, toiling, first fit sampling, first seal and gold seal samples ready for mass production. The team behind The Factory includes some of the most experienced machinists and pattern cutters in the UK.

 

Chris Toumba is the Factory Manager with over 25 years experience in the production for companies’ such as New Look, Next, and BHS. He owned his own company with clients such as C&A, Debenhams, River Island, and Next. Mary Lordjies, the Factory’s Assistant Manager, has also got over 25 years experience in the manufacturing industry working with various retailers such as Oasis, Topshop, Dorothy Perkins with experience in CMT as well as designer wear and mail orders. They both have outstanding technical experience regarding fabrics, patterns, grading and production. The team also consists of Anna Gall as the Administrator and Esther Mbeka as the Admin Assistant and is on the apprentice programme.

The Workshop is managed by Desire Koster – an industry expert who has worked with Biba and Bruce Oldfield. The Workshop is a smaller production facility for national designers and retailers, producing anything from 1-200 garments a week. In the last year, The Workshop has worked with some of the biggest names in British fashion such as ASOS, John Lewis, Debenhams, Oasis, Aquascutum, Jaeger, Lauren’s Way, Topshop and a whole range of LFW, and up and coming designers Osman, Josh Goot and Louise Gray. >>

 

>> The Workshop’s services consist of patternmaking, toiling, sampling and small production while offering a grading service through GradeRite, as well as providing Industry advice for designers who want industry expertise for patterns, blocks, grades and business start-ups.

 

In the last year, Fashion Enter has not only managed to bring back British Fashion Production, they have also opened up accredited training schemes in fashion design, skills and production, such as the Stitch in Time program. The business also launched The Fashion Apprenticeship program for ages 16-24, set up to improve skills of the workforce whilst promoting careers and skills development. It has been such a success with a host of employers including Asos.com and Jaeger and Aquascutum taking on 12 apprentices to date.
