LFW SS17 Top 3 Shoe Designers: Designer Showrooms

Ganor Dominic
Ganor Dominic’s main feature of their collection was their stunning 3-D marble Greek-god-inspired faces that their designs centre around. Made using 3-D printing or leather stamping, the faces elevate the shoes from some classic hand-crafted Italian shoes, to something truly experimental. The brand’s debut collection also features cuffed heels and contrast-stitching, with the main inspiration the romanticism of Greek art – with names like “Hypnos”, “Apollo” and “Selene” for different designs.
Porthia
Porthia offers a range of gorgeous shoes with carefully-crafted unique details, from tiny frills to accents of gold, these are all uber-wearable shoes made better. The brands stand-out design (and consequently best-selling) are their super-intricate lattice leather lace-up shoes, which they have recently redesigned with a platform due to customer demand; the platform is coated in wood-effect material, and has a versatile wrap-around detail at the ankle, all of which add even more interest – and an Ancient Greek vibe – to the shoes.
I’alave
Designed by Eva Lei, the highlight of her LFW display had to be her thigh-high block-heel boots. With stunning gold jagged heels, and the upper available in black, a burgundy floral pattern or a grey/blue colour block, these shoes were made to wear NOW. The subtle colour palette has been married perfectly with the shot of gold, making the shoes a very wearable statement indeed.
