Hello London! LFW Lands in the Capital

18-09-2015

lfw new venueNow in it’s 62nd edition London Fashion Week has taken up residence in a new location: Brewer Street Car Park, Soho. And today (18th September) press, buyers and industry professionals from all over the globe will flock to the new venue in the heart of Soho for the five-day event that includes showrooms, catwalk shows, presentations and talks.

Glitz and glamour aside fashion is a serious business contributing £26billion to the UK economy (GDP) up from £21billion in 2009 (Oxford Economics, 2014). Financial analysts predict that the sector shows considerable growth and that the £10.7billion spent on fashion online will rise to £19billion by 2019 (Mintel, 2014). These figures are not only great news for the economy but for the industry as a whole and the increased need for skilled employees within the sector.

While London Fashion Week is exclusively aimed at those within the fashion business there are several events where the public can get involved: TopShop LFW Pop Up at the Oxford Street store will have a dedicated screening area for the TopShop Unique SS16 show. While close by to the main Brewer Street site is London Fashion Week at Golden Square.
