The WGSN Global Fashion Awards 2015

16-05-2015
Steven Jones was first up to laud the praises of one of the fashion world’s perennials, and at 79 years young, Colin McDowell ‘fashion’s senior statesman’ and founder of the ‘fashion fringe’ was the deserved winner of the WGSN’s ‘Hall of Fame for Outstanding Achievement’. Jokingly, he said when he was studying, the never used the ‘c’ word, careers was never ever mentioned. He chose to take it all back to where it started, “you can have a lot of fun with sin in Italy…and I had a great career launch in Italy.”
Nick thanked Top Shop for providing his outfit – err, all in black, surprisingly for the fashion conscience, who might be aware of this avant garde style option, he joked.
Highlight of the evening? Watching and hearing the great, irrepressible Twiggy, step up to receive the Hall of Fame Icon award, presented in a most glowing, affectionate, reverent way by our newest style God, Patrick Grant. And so deservedly so.
