Press Release

LFW Daily Rubbish

London Fashion Week and cult fashion annual Rubbish have teamed up to provide LFW visitors and insiders a crucial daily ‘behind the scenes’ insight, from 15th – 20th September 2007, in the form of a newspaper – ‘LFW’s Daily Rubbish’.

The 8 page daily hot-sheet will have a lead scoop, cartoon, head-to-head interview, fashion personality profile and behind the scenes interview as well as gossip, quizzes, rubbish and much more.  It will be available from the central hub of London Fashion Week, the Natural History Museum, and outside the catwalk shows from 11am each morning until the limited edition 5000 run of daily copies, all printed on recycled paper, are all distributed.

Each issue is sponsored by one organisation, providing branding and a back cover advert, thrust into the hands of the fashion industry’s opinion formers.  Confirmed daily sponsors include: Harrods, Mulberry, Mac and Nobody Denim.

The editorial team comprises the journalistic forces of Rubbish editor in chief and Teen Vogue’s European editor Jenny Dyson with graduate fashion week daily’s editor and Disorder’s fashion director Piers Atkinson.

Hilary Riva, chief executive, British Fashion Council commented: “We have wanted to create an ‘LFW Daily’ for some time and were keen to provide something alternative and vibrant in its content.  Jenny and Piers had a refreshingly fun idea so it made perfect sense to combine forces.  They make a dynamic creative team and will give all LFW’s visitors a very unique take on daily happenings.”

Jenny Dyson added: “We are excited to be working in partnership with the British Fashion Council to bring LFW its first dedicated daily newspaper.  LFW’s Daily Rubbish is the ultimate accessory for the front row and not half as heavy as an ‘it’ bag.”

Podcasts, blogs and more fun and frolics are planned for future seasons. LFW’s daily rubbish. It’s what everybody’s talking about!
