New Managing Director for Graduate Fashion Week

Graduate Fashion Week is set for a shake up as it comes to its 21st year, with a new Managing Director and trustees announced. June Barker, after being at the helm of Graduate Fashion Week for 10 years, will pass the position of Managing Director onto Martyn Roberts at the beginning of October.

On her departure, June Barker commented “I’ve had an amazing 10 years running GFW and it has been a real privilege to help some of our fantastically talented graduates take their first steps. GFW is truly unique and in the challenging times ahead for our universities, it is so important that industry and the government support this remarkable event.  I shall take some great memories with me and I wish my successor Martyn Roberts every success in the future”.

Martyn Roberts is the Co Founder and Director of Vauxhall Fashion Scout is “…delighted to be joining the Graduate Fashion Week team and can’t wait to start working on next year’s event.”

Two new trustees will also be joining Graduate Fashion Week in its run up to the 21st celebration. Hilary Alexander, fashion luminary and British Designer Mark Fley will be joining a host of industry professionals. Fellow trustees include Graduate Fashion Week founder and president, Jeff Banks CBE and Professor Wendy Dagworthy OBE of the RCA.

We look forward to seeing what new creative ideas Graduate Fashion Week will come up with for its next showcase of talented designers.
