The event was a showcase of true designer talent and manufacturing excellence. It commenced with a drinks reception and review of the exhibition followed by a catwalk show and networking party.

It was fantastic to see leading names in the industry attend to help celebrate the 11th year of Profile, including the buying teams from John Lewis and Topshop, the Managing Director at Jaeger, the Garment Technologist and Head of Design from asos.com, a buyer from Net a Porter and Fashion Producer from ITV’s This Morning!

The Profile designers were an eclectic mix of undiscovered talent, showcasing the very best of British based designers. Riona Treacy, NKILI and Vjera Vilicnik all looked exceptional on the catwalk. Actress and Model Maisy James also launched her debut collection and even walked in her own catwalk scene adding to the electric atmosphere of the evening gala. Buyers from Next paid particular attention to Maisy’s stand!

Thank you for the Profile Gala last night; it was good to see some innovative designers on the catwalk . We work closely with Fashion Capital on the Fashion and Textiles apprenticeship programme too – the fashion industry needs to work more collaboratively and last night helps join that circle. Well done to all.’ Sophie Glover Garment Technologist asos.com

‘I have been to every Profile event over the last 11 years and credit to the FashionCapital team that work so hard to make this work for new and emerging designers. I have been in the trade for over 30 years, am currently the MD of Cortessa 2 Ltd, and I was on the original board for the London Fashion Forum that was funded by The London Development Agency. FashionCapital.co.uk was born from this funding. In todays harsh economic environment the work of FashionCapital is needed more now than ever before. I really do not understand why the team don’t get the continual backing from Government bodies such as the GLA. Their tireless work for the UK Fashion industry is just excellent!

‘Well done to all the “Team” on another fantastic night at the Profile Gala. It was certainly different from before but that’s the beauty of Fashion Capital, it’s never boring!’ Andrew Fearon, Cortessa 2 Ltd, MD

Not been home long but really wanted to say a Massive Thank You to both of you for sorting me out this week…….It was great to be in to company of like minded people and you guys really took care of me, so thanks and have a great weekend’ Brenda Patterson. Mums 2b Fitwear.

Just wanted to thank you for having me as part of the London Garment Expo. It was a valuable experience. See you soon for my next steps..’ Arianna Cerrito

‘Our son Harry is a Fashion Apprentice and we went along to the Profile Gala to give him our support. Wow, what an experience, an amazing event. We thought it was a very lively and interesting show with up to date music, fantastic dancing and brilliant fashions. There were lots of fashion people to talk to, we could see it was a good networking event too ! If we’d known it was this good we’d have applied ourselves.’ Alex Sales

Over all a great celebration of the best of British and International garment industries at the Business Design Centre.

Discussions are already taking place for Profile 2013!
