Waltham Forest Promoting Apprenticeship Opportunities Event

21-10-2016
On Thursday 20th October, Leyton Orient Football Club’s Match Room Stadium became home to numerous companies from London all in attendance to promote their apprenticeship vacancies to the younger demographic, all seeking advice on what to do next.
Marketing Assistant Rebekah attended the event on behalf of Fashion Enter and the Fashion Technology Academy, partnering with Creative Skillset, to promote our various apprenticeships currently available as well as our Stitching Academy for Tomorrow’s Designers course.
Free for those living within Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Hackney and Islington, the Stitching Academy for Tomorrow’s Designers provides a wealth of information and practical experience for our students. Whilst our apprenticeships offer roles including Production Assistant Apprentice, Studio and Production Apprentice, Design Apprentice and much more.
Local high schools, colleges and individuals were all in attendance to meet and speak to many local companies about the opportunities they have available. For some, it was their next step to take upon finishing secondary school, whilst others had completed college and are now looking for vocational training as opposed to attending university.
On the event, Rebekah commented: “It was great to once again partner with Creative Skillset on another event. Meeting and speaking to number of young people about the wide range of vacancies and courses we have here at the FTA presented them with numerous options to consider. Conversations suggested that many of those finishing their GCSE’s and A-Levels were unsure of whether university is for them which is where the FTA comes in with the ability to offer hands on practical experience via an apprenticeship.”
