Stitching Academy Recruitment Day

03-02-2014

stitching_academy_job_centre_feb_7Then come along to our recruitment day this Friday 7th February between 1pm and 5pm at Finsbury Park Jobcentre.

The ASOS/FashionCapital Stitching Academy opened in September 2013 and has enabled a number of individuals to go on and find apprenticeships, further education and jobs within the fashion sector. Recently Khadra Osman landed a much sought after apprenticeship with high street retailer M&S at their head office after completing the intensive and informative course, she said:

“I first heard about The Stitching Academy through the advertisement on the FashionCapital website. I’m really grateful that I was able to get involved with the programme during the summer. I was able to gain experience in a factory environment which I had not previously been able to do. My time spent at The Stitching Academy has opened so many new doors for me which I’m very thankful for. I’ve now been given the opportunity to start an apprenticeship with Marks & Spencer which will allow me to gain vital in-house experience which I probably would not have been able to get at university. I would like to thank the tutors and everyone at Fashion Capital because without their support I would not be where I am now.”

The 6-week Level 1 Stitching Academy course provides the perfect stepping stone to enter into the manufacturing or design side of the industry. As reported widely in the press of late the British manufacturing industry is crying out for skilled workers to develop brands that are truly designed and made in Britain.

Depending on your location you may be eligible for daily expenses throughout the 6-week course. To find out please speak to your advisor for more information.
