Today, we spoke to the students about using the colour palette each brand group created in the initial mood board phase to start designing garments that would align with the outcomes decided via their 4 P’s of marketing i.e.:

The students came up with excellent brand names for their labels including; Glitter Girls, Hey DJ and Will to Rob to name a few. The presentations the students gave of their mood boards and key concepts behind their initial ideas portraying close linkages with the 4 P’s to ensure the greatest chance of success in industry were truly astounding.

The year 4 group comprising of 7 and 8 year olds showed many elements of both early entrepreneurship and artistic talents in the making by working demonstrating excellent team work and understanding the importance of business with design.

The last session will provide the opportunity for the students to present the garments they have designed to the rest of the class, teachers and Fashion Enter staff for a final winner to be selected. The winning garment will then be made up in the Workshop and displayed in Oak Lodge and the Showroom to then be pitched to leading High Street and E-Tailers; Topshop and ASOS.com.

The final stage will take place next week on Monday the 15th where the winner will be crowned and the design will go into production next week! Watch this space to catch the next Matthew Williamson or Vivienne Westwood.
