Westfocus Designplus

18-04-2008

Design PlusWestfocus is a network of 8 leading universities within West London.  Designplus represents the design interests of Brunel, Kingston and Westminster universities.  This amounts to over 2000 design students who, with their staff, have a global reputation for creativity and innovation at the cutting edge of their subjects, whether it is fashion design, web design, product design, or emerging disciplines such as interaction design or service design.

There are numerous ways in which universities can collaborate with industry for mutual benefit, often with additional government funding to support the activity.  Examples of successful collaborations include student projects, industry placements, research and joint events.

Designplus makes this happen in a practical way by organising networking and special interest events, leading specialist training workshops and match-making people and projects.

Currently we have an additional focus in the fields of Health and Design, Smart materials and Wearable technology and Design and Brand management.  Recent collaborators include: GSK, Marks and Spencer, the University of the Arts, IDEO and many others.

We are always interested in exploring new ways for industry to collaborate with us and welcome enquiries to explore large and small projects or ideas.
