New Collection…Spring/Summer 2005… ‘Sugared Almonds’…
This deliciously titled collection from tanyadove for Spring/Summer 2005 suits perfectly as the collection is every inch as delicate and sweet as the name suggests!
The combination of silk chiffon, silk satin and fine cotton pieces keeps the collection perfectly light for summer, whether for the day teamed with jeans and a floppy sunhat, or for the evening as a complete outfit with killer heels.
In addition to this, the cuts are varied, providing a shape and style for all, to flatter any figure. Cute bolero’s and matching babysoft leather pieces complete the range.
This season’s styles see embellishment and oriental influences as the key, and the tanyadove range offers this and a whole lot more with subtle sequin detail, beautiful beading and eye-catching appliqué work. Fine lace wrap style tops and floaty skirts are also a must for this seasons hot summer style!
Finally with the collection available in the sweetest shades of cornflower blue, bubblegum pink, aqua and orchid (a delicate lilac colour), the range is bound to suit all tastes and be a hit with women of all ages!

Designer: Micheal Hall
Company: Micheal Hall
Having spent many years in the fashion industry, London-based Michael Hall, recently discovered a great opportunity to design and distribute a collection of Alpaca knitwear made in Bolivia and Peru.
Michael launched a new venture, Alliance International Agency, trading as Michael Hall in October 2004. Initially, his plan was to supply wholesalers, but when the Alpaca knitwear samples arrived he was so impressed with the quality and texture he made the decision to distribute the collection through his own branding to outlets at the top-end of the market.
There is a wide range of designs in his collection, all made of beautiful Alpaca wool. Alpaca wool is one of the softest, warmest and most luxurious fibres known to man.
This rare wool comes from the Alpaca animal whose natural habitat is typically over 4,500 metres above sea level in the Andes mountains.

Company: Global Guru
Global Guru is a brand for the elegant and adventurous. Limited edition digitally printed silk scarves, sashes and bags are illustrated with bold, quirky pattern inspired by Morag’s own travels in Asia, Europe and America and influenced by different cultures, art movements, fashion and architecture….the world and everything in it!
Morag Macpherson is a trained graphic artist living and working in Glasgow and is using her illustrative skills to design unique patterns and apply them to her fashion and interiors accessories collections for her brand Global Guru.
Having completed trade shows in London with the Crafts Council and supported by Scottish Textiles and been to Germany and New York last year with the interiors collections, Global Guru is now ready to add the fashionworld to it’s repertoire.
The Spring/Summer 2005 collection shows designs inspired by tibetan culture using sanskrit writing mixed with a japanese flavour. Nothing is ever one thing from one culture, but always an interesting mix of many different ideas to create a unique statement of its own. So diverse are the influences: fine art from the exotic colours and shapes of Gauguin to a more graphical art form like Milton Glaser, Patrick Caulfield and Saul Bass with Morag’s background in graphics using typographical references; to a more traditional textiles influence from fellow Glasweigan Mackintosh and recent revivals of Florence Broadhurst; to contemporary fashion influences from Eley Kishimoto and Galliano; to ancient traditions in art from african tribes and Indian imagery aswell as shapes and forms from tibetan architecture….it’s all in there and will continue to influence and inspire as the collections develop over the years….there is nothing new under the sun.
Global Guru will be showcasing the Spring/Summer 2005 and Classic Collections at the London Fashion Forum Boutique at Kingly Court throughout March 2005.
