ELTONOGRAPHY: A LIFE IN PICTURES
12-09-2008
“He was this extraordinary talent everybody was talking about in the industry at the time but even then I don’t think people realized how big he would become.” Terry O’Neill.
Elton John fans will be glad to hear that ‘Proud galleries‘ will be hosting a dedicated photo album to Sir Elton John himself throughout October and November which will display photos never seen before.
Taken mainly by Terry O’Neill, the photographer named as possibly ‘the greatest photographic chronicler of fame.’ The collection of photographs range from the early beginning years of his career to the most recent of events. In the 1960’s he was known for capturing the true meaning of music, fashion and movies before moving upwards to Hollywood and becoming first choice photographer and friend of film stars, directors, producers and magazine editors. Having worked on Bond posters and Versace fashion campaigns he began to re-invent the idea of reportage celebrity photography.
