SOS – Save Our Shop!

SOS

Fashion Enter currently has two Boutiques, one in Barking and one in Croydon. At the latter there was a little bit of a ‘to do' this weekend. The Croydon Council are refusing to provide Fashion with discretionary rates, despite the fact that we promote young designers and provide the Croydon public with fabulous, one off items of clothing.

Over the last few weeks employees of Fashion Enter have been taking to the streets of Croydon with petitions and smiles, enticing fashion enthusiasts to join the fight to Save Our Shop.

This weekend we sent out our secret weapon…The Blondes. Armed with petitions, specially made t-shirts and a certain degree of feminine charm they took to the streets and gathered a huge number of signatures, the total running at around 750 unique signatures!

The day was beautiful, the sun beating down and the streets of Croydon were packed with men, women and children all off to the shops for their latest Fashion fix. Also on the streets were a number of Superheroes promoting a charity. Many of the people approached were only too happy to help and visit the Boutique as well as signing the petition, but as per usual there were some very rude people on the street, including a label covered couple, whom when asked: ‘Are you interested in fashion?' answered ‘No' accompanied by a once over look of disgust that screamed ‘And your not either by the look of it'.

There were some charming lads on the streets as well, after promising that their details would not be stored and they would not be hounded made it quite clear that their number could be stored by either of the girls on the street.

Another brilliant introduction was ‘Hi guys, are you interested in Fashion?" to which the priceless reply was ‘I am now!".

Overall the day was a great success, and with any luck next weekend will be the same, there will live music (TBC) and basically a bit of a party going down in the Fashion Enter Boutique, Centrale Shopping Centre, Croydon next Saturday.
